Hello everyone :)  Just a quick comment here - hope someone will listen and offer to make this possible...

 

Since our school raises money through the PTO (Parent Club), and the Parent CLub has an account in our school's name, you should make it possible for the organization raising the money for the school gets the money to use for the school.  In some cases, like ours, the check is just deposited into the school's general account and it's hard to get the secretary to make the transfer to the Parent Club's account.

 

Anyone know is this can be changed?!?

I have an idean and I need grassroots effort to make it work. The way this program is set up we don't get the money earned during a school year until June. I think this would work better if we got the money earlier, such as in March. That way students who work toward earning tickets during a year could spend that money in the year it is being earned.

 

Here's an example which may explain it better. My school is planning on taking the 5th graders on an overnight trip in May. During the 5th grade year, they would earn tickets, and when the money becomes available in March we would know how much more the students needed to raise for their trip. As the system currently works, they would need to earn tickets during 4th grade and have to wait one year to get the money. Not exactly immediate gratification.

 

If we all contact Microsoft and Scholastic and petition them to send out the checks in March, rather than June, it would make the goal more apparent to students and parents and encourage participation.
